Night Exposure Shots

This one happens to be my favorite night shot I took last weekend on a tripod out in front of my apartment. Next time I decide to take these types of shots I’ll go where the lights and traffic are a little heavier (in Owosso) and see what I can get. Hope you enjoy this one too!

So I’ve been taking up Photography again, since I used to love it in High School. I went out and bought a new camera, and well the rest is through pictures. I wanted to share a few that I enjoyed taking, and some that really show so creative/artistic side of me. Now if only this new found talent will come over to the graphic design work that I need done I’ll be all set! Hope you guys enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!

Setting up Ruby on Rails on Vista

So I bought a new computer this week and of course it’s got Windows Vista on it. For those that I don’t talk to everyday, I use Vista at work, and have been since January. I have to say that I really do not like this new operating system. There are some features that I do like it, however, if you do not have at least 2GB of Ram in the computer Vista is SLOW!!!! Currently, I’m barely running anything, Firefox and AIM, and I’m using 75% of my memory! This is pathetic! I’m really seriously considering looking into purchasing an XP license and installing that on here.

Anyways, I haven’t really seen a lot of people that have really tried to install Ruby on Rails on Vista, so today I decided that I wanted to take a chance and see what happened. I first tried to use InstantRails, however I was unsuccessful about it. I then decided to just install Ruby/Rails, and MySQL all together on the machine. This I had no trouble with. I’m not sure what exactly was going on with InstantRails, but I might try to give it another try later. I’ll give you some more info later when I get an application actually working correctly on here! :)

Facebook Becoming the next Myspace?

Facebook has released a feature (at least in my eyes) the ability for other web-applications or services to access your profile (by your choice of course). Hopefully the day will never come when Facebook starts allowing their user base to change the appearence of their profile the way that MySpace does. Granted I do like MySpace (still trying to decide why it is that I do), but another MySpace site, and I think I’d have to say that I’ll get rid of my Facebook account.

To Blog or Not to Blog…

So I’ve been thinking the past few weeks about whether or not bloging is something I should be doing or not.  First off, as you can see, I’m not posting as frequently as I should.  My goal is to post once a day, however I always find some reason not to post.  I don’t know if it’s doing the research, or creating the video, or what.  But if I do choose to continue blogging I need to do it everyday.  I manage to take pictures every day, but posting something here I just can’t seem to keep up with.

I guess what I will do is think about continuing this blog.  Maybe I’ll change the format around or something so that I can post more frequent than I have been.  Maybe I will just do videos or do posts or something.  Maybe it won’t even be a broad range of technology; maybe I’ll just narrow my thoughts down a little bit more to one particular area of technology. We’ll see soon enough!

TGIF…

I got this video from a friend, and while it doesn’t have much to do with technology, it does have to do with video games. It’s a longer video, running around 23 minutes, but I found it very funny for my evening here at work. Hope you guys like this as much as I did!!
